We would like to react again to various hoaxes related to the brown bear being spread on social media. Recently, a video of a guiding mother bear and her cubs that were disturbed by hunting dogs during a joint hunt for wild boar in the forests near the village of Hrboltová (Ružomberok district) is being shared on the Internet.
The video, however, started to be abused immediately to incite fear:
- We registered the information on how the author of the first HOAX claimed that the video was made at a ski slope in the Hrabovská dolina valley.
- The author of the second HOAX tried to convince the public that the video was shot yesterday, on the outskirts of the municipality of Borinka near Bratislava, and the hoax had more than 11 thousand views and more than 400 shares in course of 1 hour on Facebook alone.
We can only guess where this video will be said to have been filmed tomorrow. Let us not spread panic and let us check facts and sources of information we view or share.
